Almost all the time, since I shoot a lot of macro / close-ups.

Constantly, it's the most indespensible feature I require on a camera body. I use it with almost all lenses and particularly with macro and long glass.

my camera doesn't have DOF preview...
do digicams have DOF preview and are they any use given the lack of sharpness in an LCD screen? |

Sometimes, because for landscape, I can also use the scale on the lens for DOF. However, for marco, the DOF preview is very useful in helping you "SEE visually" which part of your subject is in critical focus.
