hi good people,

i am new in photography,
and hoping that i can get a pointer or two,

this picture was taken with a canon 30D
with EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM at 105mm f/4

i guess it's too bad to be commented and critisized?

As a plant lover, the photo looks ... normal. I felt that there is too much space above. If the centre receptacle can be seen, better as this is what makes the orchid special.

I feel that the flower is not attracting my attention. The pic looks soft as well.

Distracting foreground and out of focus on the flower. The colour is slightly off.

might handshake i think.

and the background circular blobs.
are they supposed to be flowers?
