This series, it wasn't the fire works that captured my attention, but rather the cheerfulness and happiness expressed out from all the disadvantaged people, the bright smiles from the volunteers.
Great shots! The photos not only brought smile to my face but also brought warmth to my heart, it's very heart warming to see such disadvantaged people are being cared by so many volunteers. |

Well done. I agree with the thing that its the heatwarming issue then the fireworks. Of course, your fireworks are nice as well. But the volunteering thingy is even more worth commending on!
Good job bro, both on the volunteer part and the fireworks. Hope to see you share more on them. |

Thanx for all the comments... Just hoping that I can also raise awareness that while we are living well, we should also help the other in need. Although I am neither a volunteer of the West End nor Terra Hope (Personally I am a volunteer during my NTU days at Singapore Boys Home), I believe that volunteering has no boundaries.
I also receive some concerning messages regarding my post. One was asking if these pictures would cause a certain level of discomfort to the parents of these beneficiaries. I apologise if it does, but I personally mean no harm. If there are in deed complaints, or requirements for this post to cease, I would have no objections. But my overall motive was not to embarass but to raise awareness. |

The fact is that, their parents are proud of these children and indeed care and loved them very much, wanted them to grow and develop and learn to be independence on their own as much as they can, that's why they send them to these Home, and I'm sure the Home would have asked for the parents' consentment to allow these children to go out for such outing, cause they know very well that such outing and events will help build the confidence of the children, and most of all, allow them to enjoy the special moments. I'm sure the smile, the cheer, the happiness and the liveliness shown from their faces from these photos say them all. Now, I'm not putting those who are concerned about their parent feeling discomfort of showing such photos, like I said, they are valid concerns, but when given a deeper thought, I do think that showing such photos to the public, will only bring more awareness and education to the general public that such disadvantaged children are also have feeling and emotions of their own, they too are capable of enjoy certain events in their own special way. These photos will help us to understand them better, and may even help to bring in more volunteers to help care for these children. Most of all, these photos have the voice of their own, and these children are ought to be heard. Lastly, if my post here offended any one, I offer my most sincere apologies. |
