I was just reading about it somewhere else, thinking that it was driven to that design by the E-3, or vice versa.
Amazon.com has already posted something on it, in preparation for sale. It could steal Olympus' thunder depending on the timing. |

As it's not Olympus, I don't think anything about it.

Unless you have a ship load of 'L' lenses or plan to buy them with the 40D, the images out of the 40D with Canon's consumer grade lenses would be not much better than those out of a 20D.
Lenses are everything... and bodies are upgraded every year or so. ![]()

If the 40D is $1300 I think we can potentially benefit from lower price on E-3 (more competition is good).

Now if I was considering a new camera I might take a glimpse what it can offer over the new Olympus (when it comes out), but before that time I'm a happy E-300 user and don't care about anything else out there, including the E-3/E-P1.

I am sure Canon realize they're starting to lose market share at the lower DSLR end as people migrate to other brands featuring cameras with in-body IS and good, affordable lenses. |

Ermm.... why are we discussing Canon cameras on a 4/3 forum?

Guys, I think we should not be discussing the Canon in here unless there is a specific link to that with Four Thirds. As far as specs goes, the new Canon offering is not a 4/3 mount so... thread closed.
For those really interested in the new Canon camera and their system, there is always the Canon section. Praise Canon and you get flak here, denounce Canon and you have their entire Canongraphic community start a flame war here... so... better to end this thread and you can post at the relevant section within CS ok? Thanks for your understanding. Thread closed. Cheers. |
