Default Toad crossing road

C & C most welcome!

Walking home late last nite when I saw this lone toad trying to cross the road, when I neared it, it froze. So, out came my Canon 350D, shooting him with kit lens without flash (dun wanna scare the toad). Took a lot of shots cos I can't see whether it was well-focus or not, with my camera on the ground (& I don't really want to be run over by lying flat in the middle of the road while trying to focus on a toad!)

So, here it is, totally unedited except for adding a blue filter in adobe to 'cool' down the warm colours from the orange street lamps.

This is the original version. Which version do u prefer?

Thanks! All the photos I took of him had the horizon across the head, even at different positions. Guess its the road & his height & with the camera on the ground, quite difficult not to have that. Any suggestions on how to improve?

i guess i wld get some 'safe' shots first.. meaning taking from a distance. then i would slowly approach e toad.. ur cam. was already as low as u cld get it? if not, i wld try to get e pic. frm a lower perspective.

Dat was wat I did. Took shots from a distance but they are not as nice as this one. Yup! My cam was on the ground already. Can't get any lower. & I can't focus through the viewfinder either cos camera was already on the ground. Took loads of shots with varying distance while cam was on the ground so that hoping to get at least a focussed shot. Love digital!
