Default What is your normal resolution settings for jpeg?

For me is never exceed 4megapix.
    Is it too little?
I seldom photoshop, quite concerned about storage space and not going to print poster size.

Mine photos are not even close to 4MB and you are complaining? Haha... My photos usually at most are 2MB+ only, and for taken for my work were used for magazine printing already. With 10.2 mega pixels, it's good enough for poster and magazine print already.

What is the mega pixels of your current camera?

    i have a dilemma here.
Although I like 4mpix, it only allows normal quality.
If i choose 7mpix, it allows fine.
in between 4 and 7 mpix is still normal.

No offence bro, but think you are 'stressing' yourself unnecessary here.

Unless you do need a high resolution photos all the time for magazine or poster printing, then yes, you will need to consider the high resolution photos. Then perhaps you also need to look into those 10.2Mpix cameras as well, even then, I don't always set or configure my camera to take such high resolution unless it's work related. I usually step down the configuration when taking photos for my own portfolio or collections.

So if you are taking those photos for normal portfolio or collections, your 4Mpix is already more than enough.

If you're really worried about storage, write the photos to CD-R or DVD-R as soon as you finish, rather than choosing a lower resolution to save space. You want your memories as clear as possible, right, and you'd hate to lose them, right?

storage shouldn't be the thing that you worry about if you are just shooting JPG... 500GB external harddisk can be gotten at just $199... thats about 200000+ of 2MB jpg (roughly 6-8MP) saved under medium-high quality compression.

looks like i'm the rare breed who finds the quality a problem. mine is a 6MP at raw, and it is only good for printing below B5 (smaller than A4). i'm wondering if a 10MP size is good enough for me to print for at least an A4.
