Anyone has tried using third party Ink (SEPOMS) for S820 printer???
It's half the price of the original Canon Ink! Hows the quality? |

I have not tried the ink yet but I used the cheap Sepom High Glossy photo printer at S$7 for 20 A4. With the S820, print is not bad!
Also tried the Sepom 4R at S$7 for 50 sheets. Compared it to the free Canon PhotoPaper Pro. Whoa! Big big diff! It seems that the on the Sepom Paper the original Canon ink doesn't dry fast enough, therefore the ink runs! Maybe got to use the cheap Sepom ink on the cheap Sepom paper to get a good print quality! He He He!!! |

I tried the 4R paper (the one where the box shows lots of fruit) too, horrible!
Color turns greenish, ink does not 'eat' into the paper. |

However Sepom's paper is designed to work with their own ink and may produce a better result with Sepom ink. By the way, tried Calidad and Nippon-ink too, neither are satisfactory. So switched back to canon. If you are printing large volumes of report on plain A4 paper. 3rd party inks are a cost-saver. (I printed 4 copies of 50+ pages reports and emptied more than 1 cartridge of ink. Should have used a laser printer. More cost-efficient to use toner. )Last edited by newuser; 7th May 2003 at 11:59 PM. |
