I Know K100D does not support SDM but what will happen if you actually use
the SDM lens on a K100D. Any alternative f/2.8 lens that can is good for macro also |

I think the SDM lens will be working with K100D, only that the SDM will not work (it will not focus faster and quietly).

The new SDM DA* lenses still has the slotted drive screw, so you can still use it on a K100D like any other pentax auto focus lenses. Only the SDM will not function as K100D do not have electrical contacts to drive the SDM lens.
For macro lens with f/2.8 aperture, you can consider. DFA 50mm f/2.8 macro DFA 100mm f/2.8 macro Tamron 90mm f/2.8 macro or the Voigtlander APO Lanthar 125mm f/2.5 Macro ![]() |

And still, you can take the advantage of the weather sealed body, F2.8 constant aperture, better built quality ... Still worth it I think. |
