I think you'll need an adaptor for that to work.

Some of those lenses come with the adapter already attached, locked in place with a set screw so the adapter can't be removed. It depends on who you order it from, some places (one in Toronto) that don't even offer the 4/3 or OM adapters.

As well I wouldn't waste time with the 16mm Zenitar lens...although it is a fisheye, on the 4/3 camera the effect may be cancelled out; I once saw a used 16mm Sigma fisheye (OM mount) going for an excellent price, but before buying I went to the store selling and asked to try it out...what a disappointment, although it was a fisheye the effect was totally cancelled out and the 14 position of my 14-45mm kit lens was noticably wider!!! I suspect you'd see a similar effect with the Zenitar (unless you want a prime with that focal length knowing that your kit lens may be wider).

I have the Peleng 8mm. It is delivered with a M42 screw mount adapter on which a 4/3 adapter can be fittet (delivered together for me). Works very well, no problem using it as a manual lens. Very large DOF and metering works well.

Wow! - So does it give you a fisheye effect or just an ultra-wide?

Possible to upload a couple of pics to share?

It's fisheye and because of the 4/3 sensor size, the corners are not black just a tiny bit dark. Don't think it really gives a 180 degrees view on 4/3 though. Hard to keep your feet out of the picture anyway

I have some testshots from the first days of using the Peleng here:

Look under Fisheye

Thanks for sharing

So the circular image is gone? "cancelled" out by the 4/3 mount?

instead of a circular image the peleng becomes a full frame fisheye when used on 4/3... just like oly's pricey ZD 8mm. Peleng is much cheaper too.

It can be done with lots of converters

I saw some guy doing it for APS-C.

Thanks, this fisheye effect is really really really fun to play with but it will get old very fast.

But then you can defish the fisheye image and have a very wide angle lens for a cheap price (vs. the price of a 7-14mm).

That would be a ZD 4mm FE I imagine the glass will be quite a bulge

I have a friend who shot a series of children's portraits with a fisyeye and had them make funny faces... turned out really nice.

But you are right in a way... a fisheye is really loads of fun but it's more of a specialized lens so to speak.

The Nikon 6mm would be sweet to have. It has a 220˚ field of view, the lens actually captures "backwards"

It was a made-to-order lens costing USD$20k many years ago.

Excellent images you got there.

How much did you pay for the peleng fisheye? Where did you manage to buy it?
