Sony to recall DSC-P1 digital camera over battery problems
Sony DSC-P1 users take note:
Japan's Sony has said it is recalling its Cyber-shot DSC-P1, a popular range of digital cameras, due to battery defects.
The firm refused to say how many cameras would be affected worldwide but local media reported it had sold around half a million units.
Sony has received some reports of faulty charge level indicators or battery problems which shut down the camera.
It has asked customers to return the cameras for repair.
Sales of the cameras started in October 2000 and production ended in September 2001.
