Default AA lithium @ 3000mAh

Has anybody used these batteries?

http://data.energizer.com/SearchResult.aspx

According to their tech sheets, 3000mAh. So far the best I've seen. However, the CRV3, which is equivlant to two AA's (L91)is also 3000mAh. Does that mean that two AA lithium (L91) together equals 6000mAh?

Which is best in my FL-50, two CRV3s or four AA lithiums (L91)?

Correct me if i'm wrong on my assumptions.

Okay - for all you ppl who (like me) read this post and thought there was a new 3000mah rechargable battery out there, the 3000mah battery mentioned in the post is this one below:

Trying,

My advice is that 4 x 2700mAh Rechargable NiMh batteries would give you the best performance-cost ratio.

CRV3s are pretty costly at around S$12 each (sanyo brand), I'm not sure how much for Energizer lithiums would cost you...

Flashes are very power hungry and really eat up batteries so rechargables are the best option in the long run.

I'm using 8 pieces of 2700mAh batteries for my FL50. 4 in the Flash and 4 in the camera bag, ready for a quick change when the ones in the flash show signs of weakening like when the recharge times start to get long...

Thanks for the information and I may go to the rechargable, but you didn't answer my question. Will two double A's at 3000mAh each be better than one CRV3 at 3000mAh?

Also, which is better, four rechargable double A's or two rechargable CRV3s?

Thanks

I have not done any testing comparing the various combinations you mentioned but if you intend to compare, you'll have to test by triggering the flash at the same power and frequency to properly compare which battery combination will "perform better"

Regardless:

1) 4 x 3000mAh AAs or 2 x 3000mAh CRV3s?
4 x AAs should be better than 2 x CRV3s on paper...

2) 4 Rechargable AAs vs 2 Rechargable CRV3s
I'm not aware of any rechargable CRV3s...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=260149111556 I wonder if 4 pcs of 3200mAh Ni-Mh costing S$30.50 is worth it a not...

Search the site for "crv3 rechargeable" for more results

And these look especially interesting

Do note that the rechargeable CRV3s will NOT work wit h the FL-36 or FL-50, it has something to do with the voltage, such that the flash will not operate when these battery units are used.

Do you say this because of experience or documentation? I'm not doubting you but I would like to read anything you have read on this matter.

Why don't you prove me wrong by buying them and trying out in your flash unit?

Well, I'll take that as a challenge.

So I called Olympus and they 'say' that rechargeable CRV3s will work in the FL-35 & FL-50 so long as the voltage on the batteries does not exceed 3v. Adorama lists three types of rechargables, Li-Ion @ 4.2v, Li-Ion @ 3v, and Ni-Mh @2.5v. OLY suggested, without knowing for sure, that 3v and under should work but anything over 3v most likely will not becasue of circut protection.

However, I'm still not ready to put my money where my mouth is.

Olympus is wrong, I can assure you that.
