thank you starhub and safesurf for ruining my weekends with family back home.

one weekend a month my family back in hawaii and i would play poker on partypoker.com we didn't play for money, just a way to get together play some cards like we used to back home on the weekends and chat. thank you starhub and safesurf for deciding for me that this is immoral to do since when i now enter in "partypoker.com" starhub has now blocked it.

you know, it's got to come to a point where you have to ask why is your government pushing an education on everyone then not letting people use theor own mind to decide on what is immoral and what is not? i mean, basically, study and shut and up is what i see...

the one thing we did as a family since i was away is now gone thanks to someone deciding for me that a family playing cards and having a chat is immoral. i mean if that's the case, what the hell is geylang all about...morality? yeah, right.

in actuality, it's more about people just at least having a choice. i mean i find smoking immoral. nothing good comes from smoking and we all know it's gonna kill you so how can you let people do it? see, this is my case, what i may find immoral you may not, so what makes you think what you find immoral to really be immoral for the rest of us?

i mean i gotta ask all you bros who were born and raised here, how can your government tell you what is moral and what is not when prostitution is legal. and don't tell me it's not legal because i understand these working ladies all need to have health checks and a card. and if that's the case, then prostitution is allowed by your government since they have rules for the ladies. so what gives? and also don't tell me about them trying to curb online gambling when they just okayed a casino either.

yeah i'm a bit pissed here, but more importantly, have you guys noticed the internet slowing down and more places being blocked? my friend also had a website back home where he posted models...NONE OF THEM ARE NUDE, yet his website is blocked to?

so what is this business of blocking websites...and please don't say it has to do with ethics or morality because i'll throw geylang right back at you. and don't say it has to do with age because when they block a website, it basically says no to kids, but it also says no to adults, so how can it be associated with age.

just my opinion but i think there is no need to muzzle people when agree or disagree, they are all working to make things better...anyways happy belated birthday people.

Never heard or used party poker. However, I googled it and was able to go to the website.

i googled it too, but when i go to their website, it's blocked by starhub and safesurf.

like i said, we don't gamble online. we use "play money" which basically are chips the website allows us to have to play at no cost.

SafeSurf comes standard with some of the top range MOL packages... but mainly used to block off undesirable sites

last i know this website was being redone but the thing is this guy does not put up any nudity...in fact clubsnap has more revealing pics than what he posts, hehehe

so i gotta ask, how am i getting blocked from these "clean" places and a place like sammyboy and especially the forums in sammyboy are not blocked?

Sammyboy, Taliban, Teletubbies, Nippon AV model all good to go.

none of these sites are undesireable, but regardless......

how you can block a website you deem undesireable when you have leagl prostitution? i would think prostitution is more undesireable as opposed to a family playing cards.

so as i originally posted, who decides morality, and why do they decide it for everyone? and how can they even think of putting in morality regulations when as stated you have prostitution and soon gambling...i'm very curious.

Isn't Safesurf an optional package which you can choose to deactivate or activate at any point in time of your choice? You might want to check. You might have opted for the option when you signed up for Starhub and forgot about it. In any case, it can be deactivated.

It is a package which e.g. parents can choose to activate to prevent their children from accessing undesirable websites.

If you have doubts about the quality of Safesurf, there are commercial parental control packages out there that may do a better job. After all, it's just an option you can opt for.

i am on ultimate, it came free regardless... disabled it when i got it... a PITA...

then when i renew the contract, they reactivated it again... so i disabled it again...

you can go to your online starhub account to disable it.

Safesurf can be deactivated. Mine was activated when I renewed my contract, and just a phonecall was needed to deactivate it again.

I find it strange why the TS never pick up the phone and asking for an explanation from SH customer service but rant his grieve here. Since you pay premium for your internet connection, make sure you get premium customer service.

i believed he did and maybe many times before... however he gets the same old reply from the customer service " UPGRADE YOUR SPEED.. " very smart way .. can avoid all the tedious explanation and also get business for the sales team.
