I am actually thinking about getting since the price drop.
Would love to see how it turns out in the indoor sports game ... |

B&H probably either could have:
a) made a mistake in the earlier pricing, b) used the marketing ploy of low intro price to attract orders away from their competitors or c) was advised by Pentax USA to sell closer to RRP.

Don't know about the speed comparison but the principle of the Supersonic vs Ultrasonic lens is the same.

I know its a DA lens but I wonder if it is usable on a Pentax 35mm film camera? ie. no vignetting?

Bear with me as photo taking is just my hobby. I am not a pro and so can only write in simple english.
Ok, just updated my cam with the latest firmware. Took some photos in my house, including my son and wife. First impression, 1. Noise - the lens is real quiet. In fact, it is the shutter that is making noise. 2. AF is fast. I believe it will be even faster in broad day light. 3. Color - excellent, much much better and natural compared to the Sigma 17-70mm. My wife even commented that the black is black and the blue is really blue. Although I did know what she meant but I trusted her because she used to work in color lab operating color printing machine and printing photos. Beside, the difference in color was the first thing I came to notice between the 2 lens. 4. Sharpness - speechless, you won't be dispointed. The reputation of the * lens continued in this lens. The photos below were taken with the built-in flash and were resized. No PP was done. Will try to take more photos tomorrow. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This is a 100% cropped without resize or PP: ![]() Anyone need a full size image can send me your personal email. Will try to do it for you all. But give me time. |

Congrats on your purchase and thanks for the first hand review. Some shots at f/2.8 will be good.
