For reference for those globetrotters : Will update periodically.
Prices are subjected to change as the price fluctuate dramatically in Hong Kong because of foreign exchange. Please don't use the price here to argue with the shop(s). You will NOT win. Those who frequent Hong Kong for shopping for camera and gear, please kindly add to the list and keep the formatting whenever possible. Thank you so much. Cheers.

had a friend scout out prices in HK. Not any specific shop but average price of 50-200 SWD is HKD9,000 (or above).

That looks more expensive that what we can get for here in Sg, u know. I will not pay more than $8000 HKD for that lens in HK cos we got cheaper options here like....u know who. Hehe.

OK,
so which are the specific recommended shops in HK I could go to if the price is right? I know that Mongkok, Man Shing (Tung Choi St, off Nathan Rd), various shops up and down Sai Yeung Choi St, Wing Shing have been mentioned. But as I have never shopped for camera stuff in HK, izzit a little bit like going to SLS and getting camera stuff? May get good deals but there is some risk involved?? In particular, I am interested more in shops that stock and sell Oly accessories, of course....no point going to a shop selling all Canon and Nikon stuff...except to look see....hehe.

If you are looking for Olympus Stuffz, go to Man Shing. Man Shing and Wing Shing are under the same boss. They carry the widest range, they are like the Cathay Photo in Singapore. Wing Shing caters mainly Nikon stuffz. I bought my Metz 58 for Oly in Dec 07. |

Hi Guys,
Newbie here. I am going over to HK about 2 weeks later. Thinking of getting E520 with a walkabout lens, maybe ZD 11-22mm f2.8/3.5. Been looking around, but not sure besides WingShing or ManShing, any other reliable shops selling Oly stuff? This shop CAM2 has posters. Is it good? http://www.coxell.com.hk/main/advert...p?adv=20080704 Thanks a million! Cheers slamsonic |
