My workplace has a library. this is the picture I took. I kinda not good in this kind of shots.

Don't say you're not good... just keep shooting

Watch out for the frame of your cam, the bowl and its contents are too cropped.

Where did you meter your shot? I assume you metered near the books/acorn? Experiment by metering near the wall or the dark part of the acorn, for instance to get a stronger impact on the subject (incidentally, which is your subject?)

Practicing with things that don't move beside a large window is a great start
