... Softly she glides her pastel tones of muted rays over gifts of food's perfume... ![]() After my 'search' for that indescribible light and tonality of Sara's works, I have been searching for a more conducive location and tried something today. No desat was used. The muted tones comes from the choice of loctions/angle. I deliberate left the 'blemished' facet of one of the red garlic bulbs visible to see what effect the muted light would have on that. C&C welcome. |

Lovely tone and mood throughout the picture.
However, it would be nicer without that copyright and if it was slightly sharper. |

Thanks for the feedback Sean.
I'm still experimenting with different ways to handle the images, but the variations are very subtle. Guess I wanted to keep a dreamy, fairytale feel on this shot. |

Hahaha ... well, it sounded nicer than 'Still Life Study #001 - Red Garlic' LOL!
![]() Well Sean, instead of PSing the first shot, I did one more ... slightly sharper. What do you think? Extra space on top for possible editorial layouting. Realised that the photo will 'disappear' into the forum page if I didn't place it on a dark BG. |

but.. the watermark's..in the way ![]() is there any lighting technique possible for the cut face of the onion to look a bit wetter/juicier? its probably quite a challenge without blowing the creamy background though if you were to use some front reflection

I can't really remember; this was almost a year ago, but it looks like reflectors. I use anywhere from 2 to 7 or 8 reflectors for food shots.
