Just to show how a shutter unit looked like.

Left : 1DM2's Shutter unit cost : $170 Right: 10D Shutter unit cost : $50

Hmmm... with canon's HV20 cmos sensor going at 30fps, I wonder if a mechanical shutter is really needed....I mean the 20Da/1dmk3 already has liveview....

Are we being suckered?? Is a mechanical shutter redundent??? Or will it be redundent one day?

There are polarized shutter in the market already. It is just too expensive to implement on all camera.
