Yes it can. Set the built in flash to commander mode and SB600 to Slave mode.

Yes and read your manual for more information on the using flash for CLS.

YESSSS! Kinda glad I started off with a D80 before I upgraded. Well worth the additional few hundred bucks, otherwise to get a commander (SU-800 or SB-800) would be more costly .

Do you have the flash manual?
metz also have their own wireless system, where Nikon CLS is using i-TTL.

Supporting iTTL does not means that wireless CLS is supported. I am not familiar with Metz flashes, maybe those who are using can advice.

I've this light sensor trigger brought from MS Colour, it can trigger any flash with any flash light source. The only thing is that you need to manually set the "slave" flash power. So, can't use the iTTL mode.
