Was told that using the single focus point (I set it to focus centre) if you want to get sharper pictures. How true is this?

For certain bodies only the centre AF point is a cross type sensor giving better accuracy but the cross type sensor is only activated if you use a f2.8 lens or faster

Single focus point for most situations... Unless I am shooting sports where the action is fast and furious.

I always only use one focus point. I do try to make it a point to pre-select my focal point first before bringing the camera up to my eye if I although know how I want to frame the shot in my mind. Makes it faster.

yup, single point for me too cos I tend to shoot wide open and seem to love shallow DOF... so accuracy is impt...

Single focus point. Centre one. Unless my friends are handling my camera, then i set it to multi or else all the pictures wll be focused in the wrong places.

Usually Selectable by default. And I program my * button to be the focusing button rather than half press. Gives me the freedom to reframe after focus.

What's the cost of replacing the focus sensors of 350D?
One of the focus point (central one on right flank) on my cam didn't work.. It blinks and hunts the lens' focus system but never locks.. It is not a contrast issue, since the extreme right sensor can lock focus when I choose it.. |
