I think the second one is the shell remains of a dragonfly nymph. Baby dragonflies are called nymphs. These live underwater for about 5 years before emerging to become dragonflies for another 5 years. (life cycle similar to caterpiller->butterfly). What you captured seems to be the shell after the dragonfly has left. I think the head portion of the shell has already dropped off.
By the way, dragonfly nymphs are fearsome creatures. They are predatory, eating small fishes and tadpoles. On its lower lip is an extensible claw which can shoot out and grab any fish/tadpoles swimming by. Its camoflaged among the water plants and ambushes prey that swim by. Fully aquatic at this stage of life, it also breathes underwater. I see you are enjoying your G3... ![]() |

so wat i captured was actually a dead form. apparently most of u guys read up on insects n birds a lot. almost everyone is so knowledgeable. n yes i'm enjoying my g3 awrite! ![]() |
