Wonder if anyone can give me any tips on improving the sharpness or is it just the lens?
I've just got my new K10D but a bit disappointed in sharpness when compared to my D80. |

Easily overcome, that's what I hear. |

Would love to know that!!! ![]() Cause right now I feel very upset with my shots at an event shoot. I've never pictures so soft before even with Fstop 8 and above. Do appreciate if K10D folks can help. |

If everything is working, RAW should not be soft unless it's in JPG. To get sharper JPG shots, set it to bright mode instead of neutral (Image Tone), and add sharpness +2.

How was the lighting condition at the event? From what you described, it seems like focusing problems. |

I asked about lighting conditions because you have to be extra careful that the AF sensor is getting a good focus lock under poor lighting. Try AF on the subject's eye or patterns on shirt then recompose and take the shot. I'm assuming you use AF-S. AF-C hunts about hopelessly under low light.

Yes, I realised I used AF-C for the events which ends up having lots of misses. So I've just switch it to AF-S. Thanks for the advise. Trying to get some shots up here for comparison when I get a chance. |
