need help to purchase a tripod

Hi, I am utterly confused! I want to buy a reasonably good tripod and have narrow down to Gitzo, but their model naming is so confusing. I have no idea which one is suitable for me.
I am currently using D80 w/grip 80-200 and sb800. I have a budget of about 600 - 900 for the tripod excluding ball head which i have narrow down to Markin M10 or one of those china made kangrinpoche. Opinion pls.

try any series 2 tripod. Should be okay. If you not that tall, you can consider series 1 as well.
