Hi,
newbie, was looking at the carl zeiss website and saw that Pentax is able to perform Program Auto Exposure. Does this means is it able to set aperture and shutter on the camera using P mode instead of using the lens aperture rings to set aperture ? Can anyone who has used a carl zeiss manual lens share this . Thanks http://www.zeiss.com/c12567a8003b58b...2571ec004b04a3

Those are new CZ lenses with K-A mount.
The old CZ lenses which can uses for Pentax are those M42 screw mount. |

Yes the new CZ lenses are using the PKA mount. This means that the lens aperture ring has the A setting to allow full auto aperture control from the camera body. You will get full viewfinder readout in all the auto exposure modes (Av, Tv, P and whatever pre-set scene modes cameras like the K100D has, eg. pet mode, museum, sports, etc.). The lenses operates exactly like the newer Pentax lenses, except focusing is done manually.
