Default 1Dmkiii Review

Hey guys, for anyone who is interested, I've just gotten my hand on a 1Dmkiii and have posted a short review on my blog at www.39voices.blogspot.com

I wrote it from the perspective of a wedding photographer, since that is most of what I do and in a nutshell, I am really happy with the camera. I used to shoot with a 5D and I think the 1Dmkiii is really a big step up.

Hope the review helps in case anyone is being tempted into getting one.

Thanks for the review Kuang! I've always thought you used your rangefinder most of the time. Hehe. After reading the review, I guess I was wrong. Cheers!

Hey Hamzee, yes, I always shoot every wedding with a rangefinder, but will also always bring along a DSLR to shoot with longer lenses ie 90mm and above.

So my setup is one Leica rangefinder, 3 lenses and a Canon DLSR with 1 or 2 longer lenses or funny things like a fisheye. Hope this helps to give some perspective on the review.

Hi CK,

May I know which shop did you buy your toy from? And how much did you pay for it? Were you on a queue list?

Hi Kuang,

Thanks for the simple yet honest review. Short and sweet.
If only I can afford it. Ha.

hey guys, for people who asked, I got mine from Alan photo. This was their last set. I heard fromreliable sources there is a shipment coming in this week and likely hit the shelves next wk. To be fair, i got a reasonable price as I knew someone who is closely connected to the business, but it's between 6700 and 7000 depending on where u go. TCW quoted me 6900, i think Orient photo would be less but not sure. hope this helps

John 3:16 quoted me $6400. Don't know if the price still stands though.

Oh sharks....... And if you get it from Japan all the manual will be in Japanese and if it goes bogus within a year it will be a bumper.
