For normal appliances in the house are directly connected to power socket as in Singapore is hardly had a power surge, but not on my music system, I use PS Audio Ultimate Outlet. It would not only protected from power surge but also clean the power line.

    Cheers.

Singapore Power is usually quite stable, never experienced brownouts, surges, powercuts, etc. So no need for UPS or similar for me.

this is very dependent on the wiring of your house. i do know of places whereby the elec will trip cos of a nearby lightning strike.
