Hi. I just took some pictures with my 18-200 VR lens at my friends party. Using 200mm with VR = Active. 1/60, F5.6, ISO400. I found the picture taken quite noisy (or glossy). Is it normal?

Sorry, I must respect my friends' privacy. I try to crop part of a photo here.
![]() My camera is D70s. I paid $1060 for a second hand one from a fellow CSer weeks ago. If you can't see the link, try http://photo.163.com/photos/xc_wyl/1...59/3590069677/ Click on the photo to see it in full size. Last edited by bonobo; 1st August 2007 at 02:23 PM. |

$1060 should be the price of the used 18-200 VR, right ?
![]() Anyway, server still under maintenance so still can't see the pic, even at the link. |

Back to the problem.. i cant view it, but i believe the noise due to under exposing, which will show noise even at ISO200. The other thing is i believe you shouldnt use active mode for such shots... |

Thanks XC Pictorial for the advice. Was told by the seller that Active mode seems to work better for him in all circumstances...

Does the lens barrel creep slowly or pretty fast when tilted at about 45 degrees? I shot at 35mm, view the picture (lens tilted downwards) for 5~6 secs and the lens may be at >= 135mm... Is this normal?
