Talking DIY/Hacking on Canon 350/400D

anybody here has done any DIY/hacking on Canon 350/400D Camera?

interested to know (and try... )

i mean, either alter the camera or DIY accesories.

i actually searched google and found some on the cable release (which simply using stereo plug and push buttons).

but not sure if any of CS-er here has tried something else

i've hacked my 300d with firmware that unlocks custom functions and iso3200. too bad i've not heard of anything like that for the 350 or 400.

but for the cable release, i've heard you can use one of those old cellphone headsets with the 1.8mm jacks, and just use the recieve call button to trigger it.

i've gotten it to work once, and then never again

i just bought a cheap remote off ebay...haha

i am keen to try... mayb this weekend

i keep thinking, should be able to program our mobile-phone IrDA to remote control the camera right?

but not sure about the encoding.

Yes, I've done this on my EOS300D. Separate buttons for focus and shutter release. Built it modular, so that I can attach different lengths of wire. So far working well. In fact, I prefer this to the Canon one as I can focus using my thumb and then release shutter using my forefinger.

Got time I will post a pic...

Cable release: Tried on 300D, still working. For 350D/400D, no idea. Any info on that ?

yup....it should be possible. i've seen programs out there for different cameras/different phones/pdas...

Yes, I have done that too... I use those good push button , feeling is really good.
