Default Canon Speedlite 550EX

Hi Pro, Just want to clarify something about the speedlite. Recently i bought a second hand 550EX and the speedlite itself require 4 pcs of 1.5V AA size bateries. Can i just replace the bateries by 4 pcs of 1.2V AA size rechargeable bateries due to the cost saving?

Yes, you can. That's what I do too.

Not just cost savings.
Better for the environment as less waste produced.
Also faster recycle times for your flash.

But do note, these rechargeables work very well and then suddenly run low (unlike alkalines where you get slower and slower recharge) with little warning - so, always have 2 sets or carry a spare set of alkalines anyway.

Thanks for the suggestions and comments. If let say i am using the 2500maH rechargeable bateries, normally how many times we can shoot? Meanwhile, can any pro recommend where can i buy the Gary Fong's Rice Bowl? And how much does it cost? Thank you.
