comments on the exposure pls...

Default Perfect exposure...

That's a beautiful picture. This bird was colourful.

The picture was sharp and the color is good. Exposure was almost perfect - cannot ask for more. But position the subject right in the center make the picture static. Maybe a better cropping will improve the pic.

looks to me that there are multi color light source as there is a bluish color cast on the rock below. But youve done a good job on the white balance.

could i ask wat were u shooting at? i mean wat sort of metering and exposure and where were u metering at?

sorry, can't recall exactly the exposure details, but most probably i metered on the breast portion...

thks. do u normally use sopt or elevuative or center weight?

i usually set my metering to center weight, but sometimes dabbled with spot...

overall pic quality is good. nice colors but i feel dat the portion at the top of the wing is washed out. some strong light source shining on it? my guess is dat u took tis in portrait view. so yr flash was tilted 2 the right, resulting in it concentrated on dat spot? juz my 2 cents...

you're right, the top of the wing is a little washed out, but if i stopped down i might have lost the details on the stones/background...

it was taken in portrait mode but no flash was used.

oh then dat's a different situation. maybe u should have tried with flash. so i reckon there was a strong light source shining on the bird then. anyway dat's a good pic taken w/o flash. cheers!
