Default San Francisco in Nostalgia

San Francisco is a place filled with fond memories

The rolling streets, the smell of the sourdough bread in the air, the thick creamy and heartwarming clam chowder, aunties conversing loudly in cantonese in chinatown, the lovely egg tarts from golden gate bakery, i told myself that i would definitely come back someday.

The Streets

1 curious question abt the tram & passengers:

standard safety in many countries says the door of buses must be closed before the bus can move off. Even if we dangle our hands out of the car or bus window, someone will tell us off.

Why is it that pic of trams in Frisco almost always have passengers dangling on the door step enjoying the scenary?

well its been like that all the time people just hop on and hold

most of the time traffic in sanfran is pretty fine, the wierdest things is that at many junctions there are no traffic lights, but people will stop for you to cross.. its a different level of graciousness. even when you're driving, at the junction people will take turns to give way..

i guess traffic there's slow therefore such things can be self regulated.

the streetcable car runs on "tracks" and taps into an overhead electric powerline, pretty safe and defined route i suppose

its a nice place to stay.. astoria is at a corner of china town.. lots of food around there, and its pretty much a centralized area to walk to fisherman's wharf and chinatown etc

LA is not too bad but you'll have to drive a lot there.. quite inaccessible, terrible public transport system. at night its a little shady but in the day its pretty fine.. you get to see hollywood stuff... the walk of fame where the pavement have the names of hollywood stars on them

san diego's well.. the zoo! :P i didnt go there though. drove up to LV instead
