what lens do you guys use to shoot at gigs?

i normally use 70-200 f2.8 and 50mm f1.7.

Similar to bro magnum25, I use the Nikkor AF-D 80-200mm f/2.8 most of the time for such shots.

50mm F1.8, 24mm F2.8 and 17-55mm F2.8 on set, not gigs though. Space constraint is still the same issue faced.

Depends on the location too. For those gigs set up in a makeshift stage like the current one in front of wheelock, or in a place like home club, it isn't hard to lean right into the vox or guitarist's face.. in fact that's exactly what I saw one photographer do a few hours ago (at wheelock).
