I was wondering if anyone's been snorkeling down around Phi Phi island. I'm going to assume there are only one or two areas...
Does anyone have any information on what I'm to expect while snorkeling, is there a spot I can pick (I know there are several choices with the hotel) where I'd be able to get better underwater snorkeling pictures then say another spot? Any info would be great, as the sites like to hype these areas, and I'm sure personal experiance with each area is better then a tourist website. Thanks, ADam |

Hi Adam,
I've been to Krabi and took a tailboat out to somewhere near Phi Phi island. I've been to a few islands for snorkelling. My preference would be Bamboo Island since it's quite near to Phi Phi. I would recommend you to try to approach the boatmen by yourself and get the best rates from them to bring you around. Those tailboat tour organised by hotels/resorts are much more expensive. So, maybe you can try to bargain a little with the boatmen. Oh! By the way, you can ask the boatman to park the boat somewhere around 200 metres away from the shore of Bamboo Island. And if he doesn't know where, perhaps you can try to tell him it is somewhere near the barracuda area. I hope the info helps. Cheers |
