Yeah! The top one is nice!
IMHO, other than the bottom one is kinda burnt.. the buildings at the side feels kinda incomplete (bottom part got cropped). Perhaps if you can find a way to elevate your position, aim the shot slightly lower and keep grandstand in the pic, it will look real nice. Newbie's 0.5 cent's worth... cheers! ![]() |

Bro.. Swee leh.... too bad background a little dark... there is a little secret to take good fireworks, a black card to cover your lens fully when you don't want certain scenes, ie certain low or excessive fireworks, though saying is easier than execution... expose sufficiently for the background first if possible, control with your aperture and shuttle, problem is to get a very good shot, one need many tries, sometimes it is your luck too...
Best of luck, who knows a WBSE fly over on a late night flight to see what's happening and got capture on your sensor... hahaha, then it will be one of a kind liao. |

basically the black card helps you to selectively choose what lights goes into the sensor, meaning, you can leave your shuttle up, choose what light to enter your sensor by not blocking the lens, if certain parts of the fireworks you don't like, block the light by blocking the lens with the black card, etc, etc... a very powerful and must have tool when taking fireworks!!
Bro: 2nd attempt already very swee, keep it up. Good luck! |

Don't say teach teach... share share... hahaha... there are a lot of pros out there taking excellent fireworks.
It is basically up to your creativity, for me, I block out the whole front of the lens to prevent the light from entering, open up when I expect nice fireworks before it begins (so a little on luck). One should also try to take the fireworks within the first couple of minutes before the smoke starts to fill the air. Bring spare batteries, you should set to bulb position, once you start (lock the shuttle), use your cards, on off, on off when done block the lens, off the shuttle, don't be anxious to touch the shuttle cable, etc.. it may lead to camera shake, as an AWA, you know best on even the lightest touch causes camera shake... hahaha |

I think I'll try set to multiple exposure and bulb mode. use remote control.. click once release shutter.. click again.. close shutter.. click click.. lazy to use black card lah..
