Hi!
Need some help here. I don't always print out photos, but recently need to print out some A4 size prints. I am currently using a cheapo Canon Pixma IP1000, so not expecting lab quality prints. Tried printing out on a sample Epson Premiun Glossy Paper, and though the printouts are not excellent, they are quite acceptable in my standards. However, I just bought a pack of Ilford Super Premium Photo Pearl Paper, and when I printed them using the Pixma IP1000, the colours turned out very dull and dark, with much details lost in the shadows. So was quite disappointed with the results. Is this to be expected of the Ilford Super Premium Photo Pearl Paper? Or is it due to the printers paper setup? Under paper type, I choose "Photo Paper Pro". How do I achieve a more vibrant print with the Ilford Pearl Paper? Will using glossy paper give better results? Thanx in advance!! =) RR |

The media type available with the driver for the printer includes the following:
Plain Paper, Photo Paper Pro, Photo Paper Plus Glossy, Matt Photo Paper, Glossy Photo Paper, High Resolution Paper, T shirt Transfer, Transparency, Envelope, Other Photo Paper. Which is the best choice for this case, using the Ilford Super Premium Photo Pearl Paper? Thanx yet again! |

Hi Bro,
I use a lot of the ilford paper - including satin and based on the HP setting it recommends the photo gloss film setting. You can either go to the Ilford site to check. http://www.ilford.com/profiles/index...4&profmedia=65 Best closest to the IP1000 |

I quite like the finish of the Pearl paper, sort of like Matt but with a slight glow. I just have to find a way to print it better. Just wondering, how is the Satin's paper output like? |
