wanted to get an IR filter for my macro lens, but seems like hoya R72 is not available in japan, ended up with a kenko R64 as recommended by the salesperson. the filter looks like a slightly translucent red filter and one can actually see through if there's enough light. commonly used for astro photography and black and white IR on film, custom setting the white balance seem difficult (not yet succeeded) but doesn't need any custom white balance if just doing black and white on digital, but i retained the reddish tint on the IR picture for a start. above is one from a couple of tries.
