softbox:
light softer and more controllable.
expensive
not so portable

umbrella:
light less soft compare to softbox
not easy to control and light spill all over the place.
cheaper
very portable

I picked up a $2 umbrella from Daiso. It's quite translucent and seems alright for bouncing.
