Maybe J K Rowling decided to do a Quentin Tarantino and put the ending somewhere in the middle.

    WRONG.

Harry Potter goes to bed with the enemy, and betrays them all. Voldemort gets killed as well, and Potter rules the world with his newfound love:

Pardon my ignorance , but how does one go about reserving a copy at these bookstores. If I reserve, does it mean that I can walk in anytime and get my copy ? Or does it mean that I still need to queue up for 8 hrs (or upto a day ?) to get my 'reserved' copy ?

I don't really follow the Harry Potter series. But I know someone who does and it would mean a lot if I could put up with that sacrifice of going without sleep and queuing up, just to make sure that I lay my hands on a copy within 24 hrs of its release

asterixsg, just go to the closest bookstore, tell them you wnat one reserved ...

I doubt the queue will be that long ... I waited for 45 minutes for the Half Blood Prince (book 6) ... got to the bookstore at 6:30am and got my copy at 7:15am ...

the key to reserving a copy, which they all ask you for a deposit, is to guaranty you a copy, and in the event things sell out, your will be reserved ...

I didn't even reserve my copy. Got the Half Blood Prince the day after the launch. No queue. Just walked in to a nearby popular bookstore and bought it.
