you need bring more focus to your shots. in shot 1 things are too spread out, go in closer, shot No. 2 focus in that single flower in the centre of the pic but its very much lost... go in closer!

Pic 1 looks ok to me.These herbs have small flower and you definitely got good magnification without hand shake.
For No. 2, I think you should focus on the flower at the bottom of the picture. It is in a better position ,a more frontal position,to show its beauty.

let me go into a bit more detail for the 1st shot.
the flowers and seeds are the dominant parts of the photo, the areas circled red are in focus, the area circled blue it out of focus. You may notice that the in-focus areas are much smaller that the out of focus area. Further, its the small flowers that are focused and not the larger parts that carry the seeds which dominate the photo.
an improved version of the shot would have the blue area in focus and the red out of focus. Or by increasing DOF (smaller apeture) you could have both in focus.

another problem area is circled green: the background, similar in colour, brightness and pattern as the flowers it rivals for attention. Try to find a background that more even and that supports your main subject and does not rival it.
