I can tell you right now that its pretty boring.

BUT, Houston is confirm worse than Atlanta.

Atlanta has good nightspots, great live music, good food. And a decent number of attractions to keep first time visitors in check

And you can always fly 40 mins down to Orlando for disneyworld

If you're the nature loving kind, Georgia will be a wonderland for you. Can drive up and do hiking, water rafting and all. The Georgia mountains are beautful. Can drive to neary tennessee and the carolinas as well. All with great scenery

Thanks guys... had a chat with my friend in the US this morning... think we've more or less decided to meet in Orlando, since we both have not been to Disney World before Don't have enough time, so will have to pass on the outdoors thing in Georgia (fun though it sounds).

Any nice, but not expensive places to recommend in Orlando? What else to do besides Disney World (I know you can spend the entire week there and never see everything), just wanna see what else can be done over a long weekend there. THx

Besides DisneyWorld, there are Universal Orlando and Seaworld, as far as theme parks go.

There is also Kennedy Space Center, from which the space shuttle launches, although it's about 45 minutes' (advertised) drive from Orlando. The visitor complex has plenty to see.

There is far too much shopping, both high end and discounted.

I went to Orlando a few years back...the Disneyworld took us 4 days (Magic Kingdom, MGM, Epcop and Animal Kingdom).....the Univesal is another 2 days to complete

For outlet shopping....this one is good enought for half a day trip http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=17
