Default Condition of the flash.

Hi Guys,
went past the shop again today and confirmed the condition is very very good for the flash unit and the mini stand. The case is very nice outside with a bit loose on the inside.
Check it out.
Regards

U mean the flash is not compatible with Dimage 7i?

Anyway, wat is flash for? Nite shots? The original in-built flash in Dimage 7i not good enuff? In which scenario do we need to use external flash?

It's supposed to be compatible.

External flash comes in useful for the following situations:
1. when the subject is far away. Built-in flash is not powerful enough.
2. you need fast recycling time. External flash with it's own batteries recharge faster
3. conserve battery power on the camera
4. when you want to bounce the flash for a softer effect and use light more creatively (e.g. just highlight one part of the frame, etc)
5. illuminate closeby subjects, e.g. insects. buil-in flash will be blocked by the protruding lens.
6. When you want to manually set the flash power by adjusting the zoom coverage, the +/- flash compensation,

Thanx.

Will using external flash result in too much light thrown at the object?
Like the picture will become white due to the light thrown by the flash?
How to control the amount of lighting thrown by the flash?

Hi Kawan,
Sorry to send you on a wild goose chase. I didn't test it as I have bought from them before and stuff has not failed before.
Apologies

Hi,

correct me if i am wrong but i read from a minolta forum that the 5400 is compatible with 7i however...all it will function is as a flash...meaning no ttl hss and all that jazz...basically 5400 on a 7i serves very little purpose.

Cheers

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/mino...e7hi/page4.asp

The flash hotshoe is compatible with Minolta Dynax / Maxxum system flashes and most probably third-party flash systems. Primarily it is fully compatible with the Program Flash 3600HS(D) and 5600HS(D) as well as the Macro Twin Flash 2400 and Macro Ring Flash 1200.

from DPReview, it seems that 7series is compatible with "Program flash".... 5400 is not listed.
