Thumbs up Something for all 5D and 7D users. ALL come in!! :D

Maybe we should all write down here the total number of shutter count our cams had before it died. Also, how much is it to replace the shutter?

It will be a good gauge for everyone to know.

Hmmz.. when i sent in my camera for the first shot black-frame "error 58", the repair logsheet said "shutter assy replaced" .. .. i dunnot if the shutter is replaced, but if it is.. den it cost nothing back then..

mine is over 120k mark... still going... But the rubber on the grip slide off as the glue is all gone?? and when I went in and have it service, they said there is a problem with "first dark frame" which never seems to happen to me. Meaning I am getting a new Shutter assy... so its back to frame 1, I guess when I have it back later today. Basically its a NEW camera then... as long as the CCD holds up.

my second 7D is about 50k

and third 7D is about 10k

if i am not wrong, the only way to tell is by looking at ur picture file name and how much times it passes 9999.

Theres an option to turn on the file # memory.
For my 5d, under Menu> Blue Spanner 2nd menu> File # memory> Switch to on

Hope it helps.
