Since the exhibition is still going on. Why don't all the offended go apply a license from the police to protest at the exhibition. Not just NATOing here. See you all at the exhibition...

Ok, I've just gotten a call from Adeline the reporter.

She has categorically told me that Phish Communications is pulling those offending pics out of the exhibition.

So no protest? I'll still go check out the rest of the exhibition

I apologise in advance, but I failed to understand your line of reasoning when you said "NATOing".

So every expressed opinion means there should be an action? And expressing the opinion, in your view, is not an action?

In the end, this exhibition is not still allowed in Singapore. Maybe this is the whole idea of the project.

if those offending fotos are pulled out, there won't be any protest.

even if those fotos are in the exhibition, there won't be any protest, EITHER.

and yes, do not worry, most of us will be at the exhibition with or without the offending photos from the group of 'artists'.

Typical NATO here, no one will bother to protest. its easier to just type on a computer.

    maybe yes maybe no.

to some extent, some efforts of the CSers(emails and more emails, complaints and more complaints) here paid off in a way or 2. the offending photos are pulled out of the exhibition and that in itself is a mini triumph.

the group of 'artists' got their 5mins worth of international exposure, that is in their own twisted way, a mini triumph, depending on how u view it.

I find that repulsive. Who are you to make a judgement from those who behave differently from you?

So if I expressed my displeasure over the GST hike, I should stage a protest?

So for every thing I disagree with, I stage a protest?

You probably won't, but please keep your judgement to yourself.

    dun be a fool!

this is SINGAPORE and it is never in our culture to PROTEST and march downtown and stage some protest!

even when they banned chewing gum, banned smoking in public places no such protests or riot is held!

why? becos the government takes a very stern view on such matters and a gathering of more than 4 with purpose or intent to protest or riot is deemed an offence and is punishable by law. remember the NKF saga? dr.chee's gang of 4 protested silently outside NKF office and were picked up by the police.

this is SINGAPORE and if this is some other country, things might be very different!

we do it our way and that is emails and complaints and online petition!

Dun dare to be different? Typical. Just apply for a permit and protest. Its allowed here as long as its not anti racial or anti gov.

its not abt being different oir alternative for that matter.

it jus ain't practical in mainland singapore to hold protests and stage some mass riot.

u risk sitting in jail and i dun think that might be a problem for some who might wanna try something radical and different.

do it the SINGAPOREAN way. send emails and set up online petitions and not risking the hot sun and the cold rains by staging some riot and protest.

we happen to have a lot more brain then some ppl gif us credit for.

maybe if u were to lead the line the next time...

Go ahead and do it then. I dare you. Are you going to protest?

There are alot of better ways to get things done than adopt this 'singaporeans are kiasee phenomena'.

    Geez.

i guess its not a matter whether to dare to be different or not..
but its not a very smart way to go down to the exhibition to stage a protest..
or even bother to apply a permit for that matter...

some of the guys have done the more rational way of dropping an email to the organisers etc.. we are all educated and rational people.. why should we go down the road and stage some silly protests when maybe an email will do the job ?

Hmms. Since there seems to be at least one aspect of closure on this matter, I guess part of the blood calling will kinda die down.

Spent the last hour or so reading through all the posts here, and I think Shinken balances the whole issue best in his post, and expresses my sentiments exactly.

If the whole point of this project/art piece/whatever you want to call it was to create reactions, generate controversy, and raise their own profile, they did a good job.

But the point about schizophrenia was totally missed. The photography didn't do a good job with respect to the subject matter. They didn't seem like they did their homework, or if they did, they showed no prove of it.

And the way they changed their stories to cover their backside is downright shameful.

Regardless, I wonder where this episode will lead to next? Another entertaining show to watch?
