Too much UV damage sensor?

Anyone encountered this problem?
I've tried to perform a custom white balance setup on my FZ-50 while i was in tibet with the R72 filter on but the picture result is all red
After coming back to singapore i resetted the white balance in Singapore but the output is still the same as i was in tibet.
The normal photo is ok and this only affects IR photo
Could it be the access UV damaged the sensor?
any one encountered similar problems before?
