I have always been an amateur when it comes to photography but the chance to take on an AD presented itself to me recently, thanks to my long time buddy getting married. Here are some shots. Look forward to constructive comments by many of the masters who I admire from here.

personally, i find this 2 shots doesn't mean anything.
1. taking the back of person with the umbrella and lots of faces being covered as well. 2. i don't know what he is doing, missing the action? just my thoughts.....

In fact, after you pointed out, I do find the 1st shot weird. As for the 2nd, it was just a simple portrait of the groom, using the buddies around him as sort of a frame, nothing more ![]() |

Great candid shots! Personally, I would prefer wedding pics to be simple and shows the mood of the day.

However, would also like to take some shots that exudes class and elegance, like what some of the pros here (including you) have done. Me being a newbie, did not know how to achieve that and hopefully will be able to learn from all of you. So keep the pointers coming ![]() |

I like the last three most. I especially like photos depicting warming moments like these. Great work!
![]() And oh.. I like the first one a lot too. Joe Buissink has one said that every photo has its moment. Even posed photos. I think your first photo has that moment. ![]()

if u seldom shoot weddings, i'd say u have alot of potential! might be something u can pursue further
just a general comment, from this thread i have this feeling of being very claustrophobic. basically, i feel that some of ur images can do with a little more space. i used to shoot like u, very in the heat of the action, and it really engages the viewer, but as mentioned, be careful not to get "too close". it's not about wide angle distortions, i dun see any problem with that there, more of just being too tight. i assume it's your shooting not your cropping (in post). my 2c... lol. ![]()

i would say they are quite nicely done, just need to watch out for a few distracting elements in the photos, like in some of the photos, there is a hand/finger/shoulder etc sticking out and it isn't helping the photos at all (imho).

Muz really relax myself and work on finding a bit more space next time round (if still got chance hehe). And if the right opportunities come along, I would definitely want to take this further. If I can make some money out of it, good, but even without, I would still love to master this skill. Hope to learn more from pros like you one day. ![]() |

ok lar.. since we all do it... (haha) someone already mentioned a very big name in this thread, joe buissink. one of my idols... wanna mimic, mimic the internationally acclaimed photographers that's IF you can do it. most of joe's shots are on film, with a master printer backing him up. i'd say it's almost impossible to do it in digital.....
