Thread: Wacom Intuos Tablet users please come in

Default Wacom Intuos Tablet users please come in

I recently got my Intuos A5 wide tablet and found out that the top of the tablet has an abrasion on the plastic. Because its very new and I just bought it, though cosmetic in nature and does not impact any of its functionality, I decided to call up the distributor for the tablets in Singapore and sent a photo of the abrasion to them. Over the phone, they confirmed that some other customers had raised this issue before but he said all the stocks they have have this same abrasion. I was told that Wacom was trying to cut costs, hence the abrasion but I find it quite a ridiculous reasoning. Its like admitting a fault and doing nothing to rectify it.

I don't know if its real, but gave the person the benefit of doubt.
Would like to check with users of the Intuos system, specifically the A5 wide (6" x 11") (Other models also can reply if you have the abrasion issue) if you have the abrasion too.

Well, I don't have similar scratch marks on mine.

Are teh scratch marks affecting your creative output? If yes, get Intous to change it, as it is a real defect. If not, well, go create some beautiful images instead of worrying.

thanks for the input, its just cosmetic, and im not worrying about it.
Personally, I feel its just like you buy a LCD-TV with an ugly scratch on the case but you still can watch the show. But you will still hope that something can be done to it

Especially when the intuos tablet is supposed to be their professional range of products.

understood ... that is why, must check the actual item before buying ...

cosmetic defects like those you highlighted, very difficult to claim/proof etc.

hey, go forth and shoot some more lor

I'm using the exact same model and i have the mark too. It's not a scratch actually, it's more of a mark left during the plastic manufacturing process where they have to seperate the plastic from the mold. Nothing to worry about, it's pretty normal for plastic products.
