i jus feel that besides 4(watch ur W.B for this shot) n 5 which i can see are shot with FE lens.

the other 3 give me a sense of 'compactness' and 'very crowded' feel which is fine but it also made me feel as if they are distorted..

maybe its me. well... let's hear what others have for u.

I see the effects of the FE from Photo 4 and 5. The rest seems to be scaled vertical in PS, making the subjects look distorted. Not too sure if you resized with the "Constrain Proportions" checked.

As for the shoot, the photos you've selected are too P&S style. You've probably got more but not too sure why you selected these. The forth photo looks promising, less the white balance.

Anyway, shoot more!

Cheers

the events during the day happened at a fast pace.
i realised that my pics differ from the pics here,
the pics here are more composed and delibrate which i
do not have luxury.

i like the facial expressions, hopefully convey the mood of the moment.
thanks for the feedback.

I am not very good at taking photography but I can tell u how i feel when i look at the photo like any layman. I felt some of the pic look messy and distorted. dun mind me.....
no.1 pic too messy maybe standing right and closer abit might be helpful I am not sure cos I am noob.
no.2 pic look distorted. very messy and distracting. too many things to look at.
no.3 pic very heartening but the camera man and his cam plus that arm look too distracting
no.4 pic fe. like the idea of pasting the stage there alot. If the pic of the stage are more zoomed in will look alot better. And if the *yammmmm seng* of the people look bigger and closer like pic 5 it will look very cool for me.
no.5 pic fe. The temperature of the colour look very good to me especially for a wedding dinner.

Just my view on your photo the way i look at it. I am new to photography so... my view might not be the best advise

my 1.75cents.

Good to know what you are missing out on.

If you are referring to the Wedding thread in CS, some of these are posed shots while there are also many others that are candid and defintely, not delibrate.

Afterall, I believed that this is your first try on AD Wedding and it makes you excited and trying your best to capture everything.. Try shooting a few more times and you'll know what to anticipate in a wedding. Then, you should have a better control to think and execute.

Cheers

hey..

i am a newbie myself..
but i think you can do some cropping to remove those messy and unneccessary backgrounds..
for eg. you capture the expression of the groom's face well..but the hand, and back views of the heads aint that nice...
so perhaps you can just crop and show the groom's expression...

and i think its a no-no for your 2nd photographer to be captured in your picture..
its either you avoid him...or he avoid you...
no cross-fire...a very big distraction..

guess you like your ultra wide...but not flattering to the couple at times..
just my 2cents worth....enjoy shooting!

i gather that human figure distortion to b avoided (due to wide angle).
distracting elements in the picture should be avoided, a bit difficult difficult due to
the huge number of people in the family and crowded space.
i actually feel that the crowd adds to the atmosphere of the day.
i did not pose the couple (in cleaner backgrounds) which i learnt was the norm in AD shoots.

actually i feel the mood of the wedding and the photos are nice in nature but it really seems like there is some resizing problem... did you resize the photos using percentage, or CTRL+T in photoshop? and if u use CTRL+T, did u press on shift while dragging the points? There should be a proportion constraint while resizing photos...

anyway, it's definitely a good series for a newbie! ^^
