Default Traveling Insurance - for our Camera

    hi CS bros,

i m planning for an overseas tour... which insurance company or policy provides a good coverage for our expensive DSLR, lenses & camera accessories?

i came accross some policies only cover $500max per article/per pair/per set that is damage or loss.

Apparently Chubb do a good insurance policy that will cover your expensive gear here in Singapore and overseas as well. Will let you know more when I do.

    Please read the fine print..

I strongly encourage travel insurance.. Also keep your most-valued items in your hand-carry luggage.. This may sound pessimistic, but I always pack my check-in luggage with things I deem expendable..
If check-in luggage gets delayed, and later is presumed lost, u can claim for only one instance..

    From experience:
I checked-in my luggage and also checked-in my tripod (in seperate carrier bag)..
Reaching destination after transit, my check-in gear were stuck in transit airport..

When collecting luggage 36hours(!) later, I was told tripod can't be found..
Doing post-trip insurance claim, was told that I can either claim for baggage delay OR lost item but NOT both..

    Please read the fine print..
