Default Which is the right "WB" ?

    Hi guys,

i have this problem about "colour" or rather the correct White balance.
This was shot during a wedding.

However, i am concerned it may look too warm/dark so i added a cooling filter with Photoshop.
The photo ended up like this. It may not be a huge tweak but you can see the difference on her face and her dress.

May i ask which is better recommended?

    thanks!

    both WB works.

one is slightly more warm whereas the other is cooler. depends on ur whole set of photographs on how u want to bring out the mood and the whole feel.

Actually WB isn't that important unless it is horribly off. Most people shots benefit from a bit of warmth, for instance. What is important is that you don't get an unflattering colour cast, eg. greenish (from fluorescent lamps) or bluish (when taking pictures in the shade).

actually they both look ok to me, but if you want me to pick the "correct" white balance, i think the 2nd set looks slightly "correct".

Yeah, for event/wedding photography "correct" WB is not as important as "pleasant" and "consistent".

You shouldn't bother to spend too much time fine-tuning the colour once it's roughly there - once sent to print, the colours are "out" a far more significant margin from the screen. Even if you're only delivering soft copies, the customers' screen is likely to differ from yours by enough of a margin that your fine tuning is completely negated.

For the record, i prefer the two warmer looking pics. Think they look a little nicer.
