like these 3 the best.
strong elements. dramatic clouds. appropriate focal point. love the diffused flow of 6. but all tilts up on the right. #2 to 4 are nice too, but i supposed a horizontal shot is more difficult to isolate a frame. when taken wide, the boats are also too many to avoid cluttering. considering that your silhouette are really dark, cluttering and merging of the boats with the foreground shadows are issues. anyway, they are nice and unique. and particularly interested in how you achieve your colors. colored grad and warming filters? or mainly with pp? how did you do that? |

Great colours! Probably bcoz of the Kodak E100VS?
Think the 2nd page (#4-7) are better. Anyway, can share where in Penang is this taken? Thanks! |

how would i not love the shots? most of the shots done in cs are in olive orange (including mine) which is in my opinion very dull sunset pics. wasn't good in ps and unable to bring out better moods. which is why i love your pics.
although serious photographers of the other gender are few in this forum (and perhaps also few in the local community), i find most of y'alls shoot exceedingly well, perhaps about 5-6 out of 7-8 photographers, and each have a strong sense of texture and colors, of cos with background support with proper focus, composition and exposure. i went into your threads and are going to add most of them into my favourite list here later.... to me, a photograph speaks not just of the subject, the technique, the equipment as well as the user. post processing adds to the variety of techniques and effects possible, and also requires taste and vision - and in a way speaks of the user, often reflecting certain aspects of a person, which could be shaped by nationality, gender and various things.
becos i do routine browsing thru the gallery, sometimes i can see certain traits which i find interesting. the differences can be interesting becos somehow there is a specific sensitivity to colors and to a certain aspect, texture - cosmetic application might be the reason. these differences stand out becos they are not usually seen. http://www.clubsnap.org/forums/showthread.php?t=305858 do take a look at the photo in the above thread. i like the use of baby blue mixing with the silvery green & pinks. i think vivian also have a picture of the LRT? at KL where deepish purple are changed to a baby blue that goes with pink. i envied such sensitivities. |
