I am using the 17-55 IS, luckily got filter, or else jia lat. i am wondering, whether to stand in front of couple when they pop the champgne in the future, really putting ourselvs at risk.

use of flash is very obvious, trick is to use flash but the result more natural, not like flash.

I guess you are referring to pix #1, so what would you suggest? shooting this before 7am at a HDB open air carpark.

How would you guys normally shoot for pic 1 senario in open space?? What type of diffuser needed to spread out the light naturally without harsh flash on the skin ??

But #2 is indoor, and flash is also obvious here. The trick to make flash less obvious is set the shutter speed and aperture close the that of the environment such that there is more detail of the background in the final pic insted of fade to black. |

photo #2, that's the best he can do, check out the light bulbs on ceiling and background, the restaurant has turn down the ambient when the couple doing 2nd march in, if lower down the flash output, the result is totally underexpose.

maybe next time try rear-curtain sync for flash, cos the bubbly seems to fly towards the couple in the above pic.
